Free the kitsch Athens Film Fest is a 3-day film festival focused on the notions of extravagance, uniqueness, unconventionality, grotesque that will take place for the first time in Athens at the socio-cultural space Communitism.
The festival is organized by the newly-formed group of filmmakers/programmers Interferences in collaboration with Studio28 and Czech Center Athens and will present works that question the boundaries between proper, improper, mainstream, popular and fine art.

There will be short film selections as well as international contemporary and classic feature film screenings, such as Valerie and her week of wonders by Jaromil Jires and Alipato: The Very Brief Life of an Ember by the multi-awarded filmmaker Khavn De la Kruz, among others.
All films will be screened with English subtitles.
The festival also presents sitespecific installations, performances by Rania Spanou, Iselys Rinaldi , Francesca Kezich. A Workshop held by Turbo Services & the Catwalk curated by : Rania Spanou & Flavia Stagi.
