We present a 3 day program of art, performance and tattooing
Volk Kinetshniy is a painter, illustrator, photographer, writer, and stick and poke tattooer with a multicultural background. Volk’s artwork consists of oil paintings, and drawings using graphite, chalk, and ink on different materials.
“Lucifer, my dear” is a project that contains paintings and illustrations of famous gay serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer who is portrayed as Lucifer. After completing a BA in Psychology and during an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Psychology, Volk has studied the case of Jeffrey Dahmer excessively and merged it with the idea of Lucifer. Jeffrey, who killed 17 men, wanted to create an altar adorned with skeletons to summon Lucifer and become him.
“In itself, the project is questioning the qualities of good and evil, saint and diabolic, and the way they are presented in society and art. Therefore I combine the style of classical renaissance paintings of saints with macabre elements and illustrations of homoerotic content. I place a halo on a killer because who is to define what is good and what is evil? Jeffrey Dahmer has been characterized as a Monster by the media, and yet I believe he was just human.”
